Our Board of Directors is dedicated to our mission of improving the lives of children through our programs.
Petagay Letren
Born in Kingston, Jamaica and raised in Miami, Florida, Petagay is a lover and supporter of the visual and performing arts. She has studied and performed various dance styles and techniques including ballet, modern, West African, and Caribbean.
Upon completing her undergraduate studies at New York University, Petagay founded Harambee Inc., while working as an English teacher for Miami-Dade County Public Schools. At present, she serves as Harambee’s Executive Director and teaches West African and Modern dance as an adjunct professor at Florida International University.
Harold K. Bunton
Education: 1969 - B.S. Economics and Business Administration, St. Mary's College. 1974 - MBA, Stanford University.
Harold has worked as a Turnaround Consultant, banker, and as an executive director of a Community Action Agency (CAA). His reason for joining Harambee’s Board of Directors is because, his former Community Action Agency and Harambee, both aspire to empower people- "Helping people help themselves."
