Harambee Inc. endeavors to empower children to transcend their societal and self-imposed limitations. We encourage children to set and achieve goals and to always strive to do their personal best. Together, we love, encourage, and share our gifts and talents through academic and artistic enrichment programs that make learning fun for children of all ages.

 Artistic Mission Statement

Harambee Inc. is dedicated to the artistic and cultural development of youth and families in traditionally under-served communities of South Florida, such as Overtown and Homestead. Harambee endeavors to harness the power of performing and visual arts to serve as a basis for self-exploration, personal development, and community empowerment. Harambee provides year-round direct services, such as traditional West African dance and drumming classes, and visual arts instruction, free of charge to youth and residents in South Florida. Through the development of specific artistic skills, creative expression and performance opportunities, youth are encouraged to reach beyond the boundaries imposed by their immediate communities, as well their self-imposed limitations.
Through arts involvement in these under-served communities, we seek to use arts as a conduit for personal development in several ways:

- As a reflection of cultural heritage and traditions which may instill an awareness of, and pride in membership in a world-wide community
- As a means to develop specific artistic skills which may increase potential career opportunities.
- As a tool for the development of academic and life skills such as reading, mathematics, writing, science, and financial literacy.
- As a tool for personal and social growth through the development of individual and collective responsibility, discipline of the mind and body, self-esteem, and independent thinking.
